I’ve been experimenting with watercolor painting lately. I have to admit I like it as I can do it while snuggled in on the couch (it has been raining here in SoCal and I haven’t been motivated to be out in the studio). I have especially enjoyed working with metallic and glitter watercolors and thought it might be fun to have a wider variety of colors which is why I think I want to try this tutorial on how to make my own metallic watercolors with recycled eyeshadows and gum arabic featured over at the blog Suzy Cucumber Living Crafty. What a great way too to use up old makeup in a fun way. I bet kids would love this too.

How to make a giant pencil and adorable pencil shavings
I was looking around for some “artsy” ideas and I spotted a party hat that looked like the tip of a pencil. I then found a tutorial to make a whole giant pencil. These are super easy and looks like would be fun for all sorts of decorating and play. Pop on over to the blog A Girl and a Glue gun to see how to make giant pencil shavings and a giant pencil.

What?!? Didn’t even know this was a possibility. SO excited to give it a try with some old eye shades!
