I’ve been experimenting with watercolor painting lately. I have to admit I like it as I can do it while snuggled in on the couch (it has been raining here in SoCal and I haven’t been motivated to be out in the studio). I have especially enjoyed working with metallic and glitter watercolors and thought it might be fun to have a wider variety of colors which is why I think I want to try this tutorial on how to make my own metallic watercolors with recycled eyeshadows and gum arabic featured over at the blog Suzy Cucumber Living Crafty. What a great way too to use up old makeup in a fun way. I bet kids would love this too.

Celebrate the Year of the Snake by making a colorful one
I have seen some calls for snake art to celebrate the Year of the Snake and so I’ve been looking around for inspiration. This project that includes simple folding and a recycle tp tube is darling. I bet it would be fun with maybe recycled magazine pages? Slither on over to the blog Craftiments for the step-by-step tutorial on how to fold a colorful paper snake.

What?!? Didn’t even know this was a possibility. SO excited to give it a try with some old eye shades!
