I’ve been experimenting with watercolor painting lately. I have to admit I like it as I can do it while snuggled in on the couch (it has been raining here in SoCal and I haven’t been motivated to be out in the studio). I have especially enjoyed working with metallic and glitter watercolors and thought it might be fun to have a wider variety of colors which is why I think I want to try this tutorial on how to make my own metallic watercolors with recycled eyeshadows and gum arabic featured over at the blog Suzy Cucumber Living Crafty. What a great way too to use up old makeup in a fun way. I bet kids would love this too.

How to make translucent paper
I recently unearthed my stamp collection and it it was an oversized stamp of an old fashion slide frame. So I went on the hunt for tutorials on how to make translucent images and I found this video on how to make Glassine paper on YouTube by Our Upcycled Life. Pop on over to the video to watch how to make translucent paper in a few ways.

What?!? Didn’t even know this was a possibility. SO excited to give it a try with some old eye shades!
