Sister Diane over at CraftyPod goes to town cutting up old playing cards and turning them into some awesome embellishments. She also then shows how they can be used to make a tiny card-size journal or notebook using a layering effect. For those of us not playing with a full deck this is the recycling project perfect for us!

How to paint a Rothko inspired modern art piece
I make a lot of paintings and I am trying to be a lot loser and abstract. I do this by having a big stack of cut cardboard from recycled cereal boxes. If it’s ready to go then I can just grab one and “play” after I have worked on a planned painting and use up the remaining paint. These Rothko inspired paintings are perfect for this type of system. Pop on over to the blog Dans le Lakehouse for the tutorial on how to make Rothko inspired recycled art.
This is a good inspiration for my next art project. may be i can even do this with my nephews…
I have been playing with collage–also have quite a stash of playing cards. Your designs are exceptional.
