raven-on-8-ball.jpgArtist Mark Orr of Scavenger Art repurposes an interesting family of items — billiard balls, shutters, stair balusters, wooden shoe forms and more — into striking one-of-a-kind artworks. Take this “Raven on 8 Ball,” for instance, made of carved and painted wood, a vintage key and a billiard ball. The artist describes his work as “whimsical sculpture and art furniture,” but this ain’t your grandma’s whimsy! Maybe it’s the fact that he incorporates the jet-black raven into so many of his works that his folk art evokes a timeless appeal.
