How to make a ice cream cone pin cushion

I belong to a group on Facebook where we post stuff we are giving away. I scored these ceramic ice cream cones that I new instantly I was going to make pin cushions out of.

Sewing Pincushions are also called Emery Bag as they contain Emery powder and oxide iron that removes rust from pins and needles. Emery pinch cushions can be bought here. 

I gathered up a bunch of fabric, batting, red pom poms, and a couple of rubber bands along with the ceramic ice cream cones. (I bet these would be cute too!

I made a ball of batting that fit nicely in the cone.

Then covered it with a square of fabric that was about 10 inches square and secured it with a rubber band.

I hot glued it in place.

Then attached the red “cherry” pom pom on top!
