Okay, how cool (and slightly creepy) are these Rock Eye Peepers from Made By Barb? If you’re looking to add a bit of eerie charm to your Halloween setup—or just love quirky garden art—this tutorial is such a fun one to try.
Barb’s idea of creating realistic-looking eyes out of rocks is kind of genius. She uses zippers to create the illusion of eyelids, and the effect is so lifelike it’s almost unsettling… in the best way. And while the tutorial doesn’t technically fall into the “recycled” category, you could totally use old zippers from worn-out clothing or craft scraps, making it a little more eco-friendly.
What I really love about this project is that it’s so customizable. You can make your peepers wide-eyed and startled or sleepy and mysterious, depending on how you place the zippers and paint the eyes. And the materials are pretty simple too—just rocks, zippers, glue, and paint.
These would be awesome hidden among your garden plants, peeking out from behind a pumpkin, or even lined up on a windowsill for a creepy little surprise. It’s a great weekend project for both kids and adults who love getting creative with their decor.
