Testors Spray Chalk paint party and photo shoot fun

April 19, 2017 by Stefanie Girard

Are you looking for a fun creative party activity? Why not host a wing painting party with Testors Spray Chalk paint and then get dressed up in cute outfits for a fun photo shoot.

I gathered up some of my favorite kiddos, moms and even a 4 legged friend for a crafty afternoon of temporary spray chalk wing painting and photo fun. If your kiddos are under 13 like ours be sure to have parents along for the fun.

I can’t tell you how much fun they had. They didn’t want to stop!

All you need is some Testors Spray Chalk Paint (for all the painting you see here 2 packages were used)

and a big blank wall. They recommend the spray chalk paint is best for flat/non porous surfaces.

The spray goes on like chalk and it fades to white in about 7 days and washes away with rain. Since we used it on a vertical surface it faded in our SoCal sun in a few days as this wall gets direct sun light in the afternoon and the remaining chalk hosed off easily.

These kids really got creative in a big way. That’s what’s great about working outdoors on surfaces that are big.

Both boys and girls love to spray chalk!

After all the painting was done a quick wardrobe change happened into a variety of tutus and a bit of face painting and the posing began!

The spray chalk will blend as well. You can see how the pink and yellow turned orange in parts of the angel wings. The kids really got a kick out that effect.

He’s such a little ham!

They had so much fun posing in front of all the different angel, dragonfly and butterfly wings.

The fun wasn’t limited to the little ones- even Mom got into the photo fun!

For more inspiration on all the fun things you can do with Testors Spray Chalk pop on over to Spray Chalk Fun or watch this fun video. Then run out to your local Target, Wal-Mart, Menards, Michael’s or Home Depot for some Spray Chalk. See what other people are creating and share your fun with the hashtag #spraychalkfun

Had to get the pupster in a shot!

This DIY Board Game Table Made Me Want to Dust Off My Cricut

You know that feeling when you see a project and instantly start mentally rearranging your whole weekend to fit it in? That was me with The Carpenter’s Daughter’s DIY Board Game Table tutorial. I mean, it’s so good. Functional, stylish, and honestly—such a conversation starter.

It’s the kind of piece that looks high-end, but she breaks it down step-by-step in a way that makes it totally achievable, even if you’re not a woodworking wizard. And if you’ve got a Cricut machine (like I do, gathering dust in the corner), this is your cue to plug it in and actually use it. She used hers to create the game board top, and it adds such a clean, custom finish.

I never really thought about how handy a built-in game board could be—no more shuffling Monopoly pieces off the kitchen table when it’s time for dinner! It’s perfect for families, game nights with friends, or even just a cool coffee table alternative with a little hidden fun.

What I Love About This Project:

  • It doubles as a gorgeous piece of furniture.

  • You can totally customize the games—checkers, chess, tic-tac-toe, you name it.

  • It’s an awesome way to up your Cricut game (seriously, I’ve been inspired).

  • And let’s be honest—it’s a great excuse to get crafty and competitive.

If you’re looking for a project with style and function, check out the full tutorial here. Fair warning though—you’ll probably end up wanting to make more than one.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to charge my Cricut and pretend I know how to play chess again…
