Recycled book page hot air balloon decoration

June 22, 2017 by Stefanie Girard

Hot air balloons are such a fun image to work with and this set of Crafter’s Companion die cut and rubberstamps that include a vintage hot air balloon with 2 inspirational sentiments made me want to make a wall hanging decoration that would have a bit of motion to it.

I die cut 6 hot air balloons out of recycled book pages that I first stamped with the hot air balloon image.

The I used ColourBlend pencils by Spectrum Noir to color each one in a different combination.

I grabbed a stick from the yard and tied each balloon to the stick at a different length.

To make the banners for the sentiments I folded a piece of Kraft Cardstock in half and then taped the Die’sire Mixed-media pennant shaped die with the top edge over the fold so it would cut a long double shape when unfolded.

Then I rubber stamped the sentiments and added a bit of color with the ColourBlends pencils to each banner. I added them to the center two strings.
