How to wood burn a “couple” set of letters

October 28, 2015 by Stefanie Girard

wood letters decoarion big

Initials are a fun way decorate and wouldn’t these letters with an ampersand make a great gift for newlyweds or an anniversary gift? To embellish the surface I wood burned the letters with their own letter and the ampersand with what else? An ampersand!

I did the wood burning very close together on the top left and then spread it out toward the bottom right.

If you over burn it is easy to fix. Simply sand the surface a bit

You can see how much of a “halo” the “&” has in the lower left corner of this photo.

After just a bit of sanding you can see the “halo” is gone and it looks like the others.
