I have something so fun to share with you today. There is this new mouldable glue called Sugru that comes in lots of colors and is so easy to work with. I love using old single earrings and buttons to make jewelry with. So I thought I’d try out this new mouldable glue and make a ring with this glittery recycled button.

I covered my ring mandrel with a bit of scotch tape at the size I wanted to make, size 7. If you don’t have a ring mandrel use a marker that I ring you like the fit of will slide on. All I did was cut open the pink package of Sugru and formed a strip around the mandrel. To glue the button onto the band I took a small ball of the Sugru and pressed it onto the back of the glitter button and then pressed it onto the Sugru that was wrapped around the mandrel.

I decided to try one more technique with this Sugru and glitter button ring. I thought I’d try rubber stamping a word around the ring. It worked great!
I let the ring dry for 24 hours as the package directed. I used my fingernail to gently loosen the ring from the tape and it slid off the mandrel. This project couldn’t be any easier to make! I will most definitely be making more of these recycled button and earring Sugru rings.
