I love old wooden thread spools and the clever crafter Jean of the blog The Quilted Cupcake came up with this fun way to make a heart shaped thread spool decoration. I wonder if there is an easy way to do this but so you can still take the spools off?

How to serve up some cute recycled pumpkins
Old sporting equipment often gets discarded but certainly not by any recycled crafter. The clever crafter over at the blog Recreated Designs has created these rustic pumpkins from old tennis rackets. Pop on over to see the tutorial on how to make recycled old tennis racket pumpkins. I wonder if pickle ball rackets would work too?
Maybe those round pieces of velcro would work to make the spools removable. Might need to reinforce the velcro adhesive first. I might have to try this myself.
