As we all know it’s never too soon to start your Christmas crafting. And I try to make a new tree and Advent calendar every year so I start early looking around as it may take time to collect up the recycled materials. This Advent calendar (or countdown calendar) featured at the blog The matchbook is made with matchboxes. Pop on over to see the tutorial on how to make a matchbox advent calendar.

Altoid tins make great bases for mini shrines and alters
I seem to have an endless supply of tiny little things. I mostly pop them on a shelf and then occasionally clean the shelf off and everything ends up in a box. So this idea for making mini shrines or alters with recycled Altoid tins seems like a great use for all the tiny things I seem to collect. Pop on over to the blog Pixie Hill to read more about these recycled Altoid tin shrines and alters.
