Cardmaking is so fun and making a Father’s Day card is one of my favorite holidays to get out the dies, rubberstamps and the rest of the fun stuff in the crafting stash. For the card base I embossed a 6 by 6 inch pearlescent card blank with the Crafter’s Companion gun metal (diamond plate) embossing folder. Diamond plate is one of my absolute favorite patterns and this embossing folder makes a great overall background to build on.
To give it a bit more dimension I used a Spectrum Noir #IG4 to highlight the diamonds in a nice light gray and color about a 1/4 of an inch in all the way around the border of the card.
Next up I die cut some gears using the Sheena Geared Up set out of black cardstock.
To make a second set I first rubber stamped gears using the coordinating set of Sheena Geared Up stamps with the Crafter’s Companion Rock-a-blocks, embossed them and then die cut them.
A few more elements of the card are:
-The letters D, A, D
-A black frame
-The phrase, “Gear up for a great Father’s Day” I printed out on the computer and then backed with a piece of black cardstock.
Everything is assembled with a glue roller with double-sided adhesive.
So don’t forget to make Dad a card with Father’s Day just around the corner all my crafty DIYers!
