Can Lid Magnets

August 20, 2008 |

While some reuse their glass jars, most (myself included) simply recycle the pieces of any tin cans they use. Now, thanks to this great tutorial from Whip Up, you can now use those can lids to make gorgeous magnets like the one featured above. Be sure you’re using a can opener that cuts the can open on the sides rather than the top, to keep the edges smooth rather than sharp.

Don’t have a safety can opener? A quick sanding down of the lid’s edges will suffice in keeping them from cutting you once the magnet is on the fridge.

Head on over to Whip Up for the full tutorial!
